Some of us see the hairs we lose. We notice them on our clothes, in our brushes, on our pillows, or on our bathroom floors. Others aren’t sure what happened. It’s a mystery that leaves us wondering if we’ve used the right products through the years, if we’ve made a mistake with a certain styling routine or color processing, or if we have some sort of medical problem.
No matter the number of hairs you may have on your head, or your hair’s texture, healthy, normal hair has a regular grow-shed cycle of about 80-100 hairs a day, so a certain amount of “fall out” is a natural occurrence.
Normal shedding usually stops at some point, but not all shedding is normal. If you are losing more than 100 hairs a day you may have a hair loss condition.
In this sense, you may have experienced the feeling of personal panic. But identifying the causes as well as the extent of your hair loss will guide you most accurately in finding the right solutions and help you to appreciate that there is hope for relieving your distress.
Hair thinning and loss can be attributed to many factors and, often, combinations of those factors. Generally speaking, they may include:
• Genetic predisposition (a family history of hair loss)
• Stress and trauma
• Nutrition and diet
• Health issues (thyroid imbalance)
• Medications (chemotherapy)
• Chemical damage (incorrect chemical processes applied to hair)
If you feel that you are losing more than 100 hairs per day, or feel you may be able to relate to one of the seven factors above, then you are a likely candidate for treatment.
My team and I can recommend the right treatment solution for you to help prevent further hair loss, or help to restore the hair that has already been lost.
