Camouflaging Thinning Hair

One tip to help you feel better quickly is learning how camouflaging your thinning hair can work for you. I know it can be difficult to hide a bare scalp – it’s still nice out, so we’re not wearing hats quite yet. (Although that time of year is quickly approaching!) My camouflaging trick will help you feel confident and gorgeous, just as you should!

There are a few barriers when trying to cover up thinning hair. Most of us are running around on a daily basis, and with it still being nice out, our bodies sweat or we could experience a few rain showers. These factors can make it difficult to hide hair loss or thinning. Some camouflage makeup can run-off in these situations, but unlike those other products, the physician-developed makeup I suggest using actually seals in place, allowing you to go about your day without any worry and help you continue looking beautiful on the inside and out!

Wellness Series: How to Live Pain Free – Part 2

Here is the second installment of my Wellness Series on “How to Live Pain Free.” Did you know that your posture can even affect your breathing? And if you are not getting the right amount of oxygen, it can lead to a host of problems, including making you feel fatigued? Watch this video to experience Mark Roozen’s, our strength and conditioning coach, first exercise to living a pain free life.

  1. Take a stick and place your hand on each end.
  2. Bring your shoulders back by rotating the stick around your head.
  3. Repeat this motion going the other direction.

By doing this motion at home or in your office, it should help straighten your posture and stretch out your back, giving you more energy for your day.

Stay tuned to next week, when I show you the next video in this series. For more health and wellness tips, make sure to subscribe to my blog. For more information on Mark Roozen, please visit his blog.

Setting Up a Hair Loss Consultation

Understanding your personal hair loss is the start to finding a solution to it. When visiting the Jeffrey Paul Salon, my team will take you through a private consultation in order to better understand your hair loss. A consultation is one of the most important aspects of what my team does for our guests. During the consultation we go through a personal evaluation. Based on your different lifestyle, hair loss type, location of loss and amount of loss, we in turn develop a custom designed solution for you.

In the video above I will walk you through, with our guest Allison, two key components of a consultation. First, the “pull test,” which helps determine your rate of hair loss and face shape, which will help to build the most attractive frame around your face to finish the look.

Wellness Series: How to Live Pain Free – Part 1

I want to share with you some wonderful health and wellness tips from my friend, Mark Roozen. Over the next few weeks, I am going to show you a video series in which he will be our strength and conditioning coach. Mark is going to walk us through some easy steps to living a pain free life, using different exercises we can do at home or at work to help straighten our backs.

Because many of us spend a significant amount of time sitting, we often have tight, painful back issues. I am confident this series is going to help us sit up straight and live pain free!

Linsey’s Story – Attachment Method Options

Friends, meet Linsey, one of our former Hair Loss Makeover Winners. After she went through a private consultation, we were able to determine the best solution for her hair loss.

In order to further determine the best custom designed solution for Linsey, or anyone who comes in to Jeffrey Paul Salon, we must determine Linsey’s lifestyle to choose which attachment method would be best suited for her needs.

In the video above I will take you through the various options, as well as some facts, about the two types of attachment methods. These two attachment methods include the following:

Creating a Fresh, New Beauty Routine

Not all beauty routines are created equal, and it’s important to revamp your current beauty routine at times. Let’s review some of the basics.

Water is a crucial part of our daily lives and beauty routines. Our skin and hair depend on it to stay healthy and moisturized. We need to use water in these routines…not just any water though. Some water that comes out of faucets contains harmful chemicals such as chlorine which can cause hair to turn a greenish tone and copper which can cause hair to have an orangish tint. Water that contains those chemicals will do more damage than good when it comes to skin and hair, including making hair dry, brittle and creating more tangles. I suggest investing in a shower de-chlorinator.  For more tips on how a change in water can start your beauty routine off right…check out my video above!

What Is Trichology and How Can It Help Your Hair Loss?

Beautiful nature at morning in the misty spring forest with sun

First, it is important to understand what Trichology is, in order to see how this study can help strengthen your existing hair and scalp and prevent against thin hair and hair loss in the future. Trichology is the study of the health of your hair and scalp. It is through this study that we are able to better determine the causes of hair fallout, hair breakage, and hair thinning as well as conditions with the scalp that can lead to both thin hair and hair loss.

All too often I meet men and women who are focusing on taking better care of their hair in order to have better quality hair or to maintain their hair for as long as possible. The missing link to this is that although taking care of your hair is very important it is of equal, if not of greater importance, to take care of your scalp.

Brow Basics: Tips & Tricks for Beautiful Brows

I spend close to 30 minutes each morning putting on my eyebrows , or at least it feels like it, and I am always concerned that they just don’t look right, are not even or look thin. Do you have any tips to help? – Jacki B.

Jacki, this is a great question and a similar issue  that I believe many women experience every day. How do you get your brows to look good without spending so much time without great results? At our most recent styling workshop, my team shared some easy steps to creating the perfect brow… along with some tips & tricks:

Women… It’s Time To Come Together

One out of every four women are experiencing some form of hair thinning. What most of those women don’t realize is that they are not alone. As a woman, you relate to other women, you empathize, sympathize, support and care for one another. It is easy, and important for a woman, to be able to share about her life, feelings and relationships. As a woman, you need this as it makes you feel more whole and complete and most important – not alone.

However, when it comes to talking about something as sensitive as hair loss, many times I find that the women I see,on a regular basis, don’t want to talk about it…not even with other women…not even if it meant finding a solution. This in turn leaves many of these women feeling very alone and stuck.

Let me be the first to tell you that if you are experiencing hair loss and have either found or not found a solution – you are NOT alone! On Tuesday, September 29th my center will be offering a styling class. This is an opportunity for women, both who have found a solution and who are considering a solution to come in and be with women who are just like you. It is your opportunity to not only get some great hair tips, but to meet women who can relate to exactly what you are going through. To tell their stories of what they went through before for finding a solution and now that they have a solution. This is your opportunity to not only take advantage of helping your hair look great, but to never feel alone again!

The close contact of kids during the school day means lots of hands touching and not always getting washed.  So what do you do to make sure your family stays healthy? Natural, simple solutions are my keys to success, here is a solution that has helped my family, and staff, protect against seasonal & environmental threats!

What is Beauty?

Mirror

“Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes.  It is not something physical.” – Sophia Loren

The true secret to beauty is found in this quote; the secret being that beauty begins within and I continue to share this message with women of all ages and from every walk of life. The reason beauty begins within is because the mirror inside of you is what reflects back to your mind in the thoughts you think of yourself.  These thoughts reflect from your eyes, word, and confidence (or lack of) for the world to see you which is how you see yourself.

That mirror for so many has cracks and breaks in it due to life’s experiences and your perceptions of those experiences. As you reflect everyday into the mirror, words are spoken from within you to you like; “I am over weight”,  “I never get a break”,  “I am getting old”,  “My hair is a mop”, “No one loves me”, and many other words of ugly self-talk that you may or may not be aware that you are speaking to yourself.  These words can then become your thinking that reflects in your life and your beauty.

So what is the Beauty Treatment for this?
