What Trichological Treatments Can Do For You

Let’s be honest, a scalp problem or hair loss, cannot be solved through the use of just a shampoo or a conditioner. However, Trichology can help identify what is taking place on your scalp and through a synergy of targeted products and a serious and complete protocol my team is  now able to fight the major causes that affect our hair and scalp condition. These include:

  • Anti-Dandruff Protocol – Fights persistent dry dandruff, helping those with scalp irritations, scalp tenderness, redness, and excessive itch.
  • Sebum Regulating Protocol – Purifies the scalp and frees it from excess oil production that could affect hair metabolism making hair dirty, heavy , weak and thin.

What Is Trichology and How Can It Help Your Hair Loss?

First, it is important to understand what Trichology is, in order to see how this study can help strengthen your existing hair and scalp and prevent against thin hair and hair loss in the future. Trichology is the study of the health of your hair and scalp. It is through this study that we are able to better determine the causes of hair fallout, hair breakage, and hair thinning as well as conditions with the scalp that can lead to both thin hair and hair loss.

All too often I meet men and women who are focusing on taking better care of their hair in order to have better quality hair or to maintain their hair for as long as possible. The missing link to this is that although taking care of your hair is very important it is of equal, if not of greater importance, to take care of your scalp.

2 Tips On How To Protect Hair From The Pool & The Sun

If you are an avid swimmer or just headed to the beach for the summer, I hear the question all the time, is there a safe way to keep my hair protected from damage and from fading? Do I really need to wear a hat all the time… not swim or go in the sun?

Absolutely not! My motto has always been to look yourself and live your life. So here are two tips to help you enjoy the pool and the sun:

Natural Sunscreen

I don’t know about you, but I’m not okay with all those chemicals in sunscreen. Now that I have been blessed with two granddaughters it is important for me to help keep them protected from the sun, but without all the chemicals that can be found in sunscreen.

My friend, and our outstanding health and wellness expert, Marisa Dicenso-Pelser, shares some of her natural sunscreen recipes that have 30 SPF+ that are not only great for kids, but for you as well!

7 Hair Loss Myths Dispelled

A red "FACT" and a red "MYTH" sit on opposite ends of a gray board balanced on a gray question mark. Isolated on white.

Perhaps you’ve been noticing a bit of extra hair in your brush lately, and like many you may feel like you are losing your hair based on a myth that you’ve believed most of your life. It’s time to debunk those hair loss myths and find out the reality to what causes hair loss and thinning and find out if you are really losing your hair!

Myth 1: If your hair is thinning, it’s because of your mother’s side of the family.

  • Reality: Actually, scientific research proves that hair thinning can occur from mom or dad’s side of the family. Take a look at your immediate family’s hair. If they are losing their hair, you may likely do the same.

Myth 2: Only men suffer from hereditary hair loss.

OUCH! Am I Brushing Too Hard?

Jeffrey Paul Beauty Tips

Myth: You can never brush hair too hard.

Fact: Excessive combing/brushing or brushing hair too aggressively can cause breakage of hair and lead to premature thinning in hair or in your hair systems. When brushing your hair and hair system there are a few things to keep in mind in order to prevent breakage and excessive hair thinning:

  1. Make sure you are using the right type of brush. Just because the brush may look fancy or someone you know uses it doesn’t mean it is right for you. Here is a list of brushes NOT to use. Don’t know which type of brush is best for you – Take a look here for some great recommendations.
  2. When hair is tangly, especially after a shower, make sure to use a detangling product and a detangling brush to help remove the tangles. Click here for a great video on how to do this.

Camouflaging Thinning Hair

Spring is the perfect time to learn how camouflaging your thinning hair can work for you. I understand that it can be difficult to hide a bare scalp, especially during the spring months when the weather turns nice and we’re no longer wearing heavy clothing or hats. My camouflaging trick will keep you feeling confident and gorgeous, just like a spring flower!

Now, there are a few barriers when “covering up.”  Most of us are running around on a daily basis, our bodies’ sweat, and with the spring season comes rain. These factors can make it difficult to hide hair loss or thinning. Some camouflage makeups run-off in these insistences, but unlike those other products, the physician-developed makeup I suggest using, actually seals in place allowing you to go about your day without any worry and help you continue looking beautiful on the inside and out!

Want to learn more about the camouflage makeup I talked about in my video above, please email or call me to set up a private and personal consultation with one of my consultation specialists. Save Some Product & Your Change!

Spilled Jar Of Coins

How much shampoo should I be using? This is a question I hear frequently, and an important tip I educate my guests on because people tend to overuse products. It’s good to go through your beauty products and learn how to make them last. So let me help you start saving some product, and change.

More is not always better. Overusing any product does not mean it will give you a better result and could possibly be damaging to your hair…not to mention, you’ll waste your product causing you to spend more money.

Recognizing Early Signs of Hair Loss

Hair loss

Looking down at your brush, you notice strands of hair. Immediately you panic and wonder – am I experiencing hair loss? The good news is that there are some signs and questions you can ask yourself that will help determine if you are losing more hair than you should. Being in the industry for years, I’m here to help!

There are a few questions that are essential to ask yourself:

  1. When you wake up in the morning, is there hair everywhere? On your pillow? On your bed?

Beauty Tip: Cocktailing

This is one of my beauty tips that every woman, whether she has a hair replacement system or her own beautiful hair, should know when styling her hair. It’s a beauty trick you’ve seen your stylist do a million times, and in this video I lay out how to use these products to help you create the look you want.

When you leave the salon, your hair is looking fabulous! So why does it seem difficult to achieve the same result at home? Perhaps it’s because your stylist uses the “cocktailing” method.  Take a pea-size amount of a few products, thoroughly mix and mold them in your hands, and disperse them evenly (roots, ends, and in between), this is called cocktailing. Like in mixology, you are using more than one type of product to achieve an amazing result.

Try this beauty trick and you’ll notice that your hair cooperates more and is easily styled. Good luck cocktailing!
